Eagles Sign Joe Flacco

The Eagles made it clear that they wanted to add a veteran quarterback in free agency to help mentor Jalen Hurts.

They accomplished that goal as they have signed Joe Flacco, according to his agent.

The 36-year-old spent last season as the backup with the New York Jets, but still ended up starting four games. As a 13-year veteran, the former Super Bowl MVP has plenty of experience starting both in the regular season and the postseason. Flacco is also a native of Audubon, New Jersey, so it'll be a nice homecoming for him as his career starts to come to an end.

This signing shouldn't change the Eagles plans of possibly picking a quarterback at sixth overall if one falls to them in April's draft. They team could also use of their 10 later picks in the draft on a quarterback with the hopes that Flacco could be a mentor for both Hurts and for a rookie quarterback.
