After an exciting first week of NFL Free Agency, we are catching back up on some of the draft news we missed. One Philadelphia Eagles scout sighting from last week was at the University of Arizona.
The Wildcats didn't produce many possible draft prospects for April's draft, but there might be two prospects they had a close eye on at the Pro Day:
Shawn Poindexter | WR | 6'5, 218 lbs| Sr.
Poindexter has a strength coach, a route-running coach, a track coach, a dietician and a Pilates instructor to help him on his path to the NFL, so you know he's committed to be in the best shape of his life and committed to the game of football. At 6'5 he is a towering redzone threat and also a speedster. Poindexter averaged 18.1 yards per catch for Arizona last season and tied the school record with 11 touchdown receptions. He might be worth a late-round flyer.
Current projection: 7th Round/UDFA
P.J. Johnson | DL | 6'4, 335 lbs| Jr.
Johnson has the versatility that Jim Schwartz loves. He started last season for the Wildcats in the interior of the defensive line, but then towards the end of the season he moved out to defensive end where his athleticism surprised his opponents and made himself a matchup nightmare. Even though the team replaced Michael Bennett's versatility with Malik Jackson's, it wouldn't hurt having even more depth on the defensive line.
Current projection: 6th Round
