The Eagles are saying goodbye to their special teams ace today, as they announced that they released S Chris Maragos from the roster.
Maragos played in 53 games for the Eagles, making all of his impact in the special teams game. He recorded 29 tackles in his limited defensive role, and forced one fumble as well. He also scored one touchdown with the Birds when he picked up a blocked punt and took it to the house. His best performance in an Eagles uniform was back in 2015 against the Patriots, when he blocked a punt which lead to a touchdown and later in the game made a perfect (non)block which allowed Darren Sproles to return a punt for a touchdown.
Maragos' last game with the Eagles came back in Week 6 of 2017, when he torn his PCL against the Carolina Panthers. He had to get two surgeries on his knee and has yet to take the field since the injury.
