The Eagles are keeping one of their young defensive tackles that showed glimpses of potential, as the team announced they have re-signed Hassan Ridgeway.
Ridgeway was initially acquired via trade during last year's draft, and was set to be the team's fourth defensive tackle on the depth chart. Injuries to Malik Jackson and Tim Jernigan soon meant that Ridgeway was getting defensive snaps next to Fletcher Cox. He showed some promise in the seven games he appeared in, recording eight tackles (four for loss), four QB hits, and 2.0 sacks.
The 25-year-old suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the first Cowboys game, which robbed the team of seeing his full potential over the course of a full season. He showed enough for the team to want to bring him back as a depth option. If the Eagles don't make any other additions to the interior defensive line, he will likely back up Fletcher Cox and Malik Jackson, but will still see significant snaps.
