During yesterday's season-ending press conference, Doug Pederson made it sound like there would be no changes to the coaching staff. That decision was not well-received by Eagles fans.
Today, Pederson retracted his initial statements, and announced that he is firing both offensive coordinator Mike Groh and wide receivers coach Carson Walch.
It became known today that Pederson said those statements yesterday before meeting with owner Jeffrey Lurie. When the two met, Lurie made it clear that he did not want Groh or Walch back.
Now the Eagles have some interesting decision to make - will they hire both positions from within? Or will they hire outside help? One name being floated around for the offensive coordinator job is running backs coach Duce Staley. A candidate from wide receivers coach outside the organization could be Sanjay Lal, who the Eagles initially interviewed back in 2017 for the position before ultimately choosing Groh.
There is no timeframe for when to expect these hires to be made, but it will likely be made in the coming weeks.
