Eagles Expected to Add Tracy Rocker as Defensive Line Coach

Now with the defensive coordinator picked out, the Eagles are now in the midst of assembling their coaching staff for the defense. Even though Matt Burke hasn't been fired (yet), it appears the team will have a new defensive line coach in Tracy Rocker.

Rocker and new Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon have worked together previously, as they were both on the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff in 2012 and 2013. Here's Rocker's full resume:

  • defensive line coach with West Alabama (1994-1996)

  • defensive line coach with Troy State (1997-2001)

  • defensive line coach with Cincinnati (2002)

  • defensive line coach with Arkansas (2003-2007)

  • defensive line coach with Ole Miss (2008)

  • defensive line coach with Auburn (2009-2010)

  • defensive line coach with the Tennessee Titans (2011-2013)

  • defensive line coach/assistant head coach with Georgia (2014-2016)

  • defensive line coach with Tennessee (2017-2019)

  • defensive line coach with South Carolina (2020)

This will be Rocker's third defensive line coaching job in just the past few weeks, as he was poached from South Carolina by Auburn to become their defensive line coach, and now the Eagles are poaching him from Auburn.

Also if you are a baseball fan, Tracey is the father of highly-touted pitching prospect Kumar Rocker, who is expected to be the first overall pick of the 2021 MLB Draft.
