Eagles Bring Back Former Draft Pick Via Waivers

Updated: May 8, 2019

The Eagles are stocking up on some safety prospects after initially not bringing any in during last week's draft.

Today the team claimed safety Blake Countess off waivers from the Rams.

This is the second safety the team has claimed off of waivers this week, the first being Godwin Igwebuike from the 49ers.

Countess was originally an Eagles draft pick in the 6th round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He did not make the 53-man roster, and was waived by the Birds before the season. The Rams picked him up and he stayed with the team through their Super Bowl run last season. Becoming a special teams ace for them.

Countess should have a solid chance of making the team's final roster.
