Eagles Appoint Shane Steichen as Next Offensive Coordinator

After not having an offensive coordinator in 2020, the Eagles will reportedly amend that mistake by hiring Shane Steichen to oversee the offense.

Steichen has a decade of coaching experience under his belt, almost all of it working with offensives (and particularly quarterbacks). Here's a quick look at his resume.

  • Offensive assistant with Louisville (2010)

  • Defensive assistant with the San Diego Chargers (2011–2012)

  • Offensive quality control coach with the Cleveland Browns (2013)

  • Offensive quality control coach San Diego Chargers (2014–2015)

  • Quarterbacks coach with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers (2016–2019)

  • Offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers (2019-2020)

This move makes it even clearer that the team is focused on doing everything it can to try to turn Carson Wentz's career around. Wentz should be happy to have Steichen in Philadelphia, as Steichen was able to help Phillip Rivers and Justin Herbert produce for the Chargers over the past five seasons.

Just four days after hiring Nick Sirianni as the next head coach of the Eagles, the team has already added the two most-important coaches for his staff in Steichen (OC) and Jonathan Gannon (DC).
