Eagles Add Veteran Linebacker Before Final Preseason Game

As the Eagles approach their final preseason game Thursday night, they already knew that linebacker Asantay Brown didn't show enough to earn a spot on the Eagles roster. So instead of keeping him around and letting him play against the Jets, the team decided to bring in a new linebacker to play in hopes of him impressing enough to either earn a spot now or be kept in mind if the team needs help at linebacker later in the season.

The new linebacker the Eagles brought in is veteran Hayes Pullard.

Pullard was a 7th-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft. He didn't make the Browns roster but went on their practice squad before being signed off the squad bu the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pullard played in 24 games (started two games) with Jacksonville before moving on from them. He then went to the Los Angeles Chargers, where he made 10 starts in 22 games played over the last two seasons. He registered 90 tackles, one interception, and one pass defensed during his time on the west coast.
