Doug Pederson Says Josh Adams' Workload Will Increase

One of the biggest surprises this season has been the emergence of running back Josh Adams. After being cut at the end of the preseason, Adams returned to the roster, and has slowly been working his way into the running back rotation. After getting 23 carries over the previous three games, Adams broke out on Sunday against the Giants

Adams got 22 carries totaling 84 yards and one touchdown (and one two-point conversion) in the 25-22 win. This was the first time an Eagles running back received 22 carries in a game Ryan Mathews in Week 1 of the 2016 season.

It appears that Doug Pederson liked what he saw on Sunday, because today he announced that they will continue giving Adams a heavy workload.

With the Eagles still having a shot at winning the division, Adams might have a short leash and be put in Doug's doghouse if he makes any costly mistakes. But if he continues to do well he will be 'the guy' in the backfield, even if the team gets eliminated from playoff contention.
