Doug Pederson Out as Head Coach of Eagles

Doug Pederson flew down to South Florida to meet with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to determine the future of the franchise, and it is being reported from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that the team will move ahead with a new head coach in 2021. This is the first time a Super Bowl-winning head coach has been fired so shortly removed from the Super Bowl win since Don McCafferty was fired for refusing to bench Johnny Unitas in 1972 after winning Super Bowl V in 1970.

Pederson leaves the Eagles with the 5th-most wins (42) by a head coach in team history. He coached the third-most playoff games (six) in team history as well.

Now with Pederson gone and Jim Schwartz retiring, the Eagles will have a brand new look on both sides of the ball in 2021. Welcome to the official start of the rebuilding era the franchise is now entering...
