Darren Sproles' Injury Could Keep Him Out of Sunday's Game

When Darren Sproles announced that this would be the final season of his football career, this was not the start to the season he had in mind. He was heavily featured in the season opening game against the Falcons, but suffered a hamstring injury in practice leading up to the game against the Buccaneers. He ended up missing the Buccaneers game, and now it appears his hamstring injury might keep him out a little bit longer.

At 35 years old, Sproles is the second oldest player on the Eagles (Jason Peters is 36 years old). His age could be playing a part in his recovery efforts from this injury. Today was the last practice before Sunday's game, as Fridays are usually just walk throughs and no real practice time tends to take place. He still wasn't on the field, along with Jay Ajayi.

Corey Clement is most-likely going to be the lead back in Sunday's game against the Colts. RB Josh Adams was also brought up from the practice squad in anticipation for Sproles and/or Ajayi missing the Colts game. Look for Clement to be the bell-cow back, with Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams sprinkled into the offensive game plan.
