Following Former Eagles in the USFL: Week 7

Writer's picture: Andrew W.Andrew W.

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

We are now through seven weeks of the USFL season and now there are only three weeks left in the regular season. Each week we have been tracking former Eagles and their production in this spring-league. You can take a look back at previous weeks below:

A reminder that a total of 14 players in the league have spent at least some time on the Eagles 53-man roster or training camp roster. Every team has at least one former Eagle except for the Philadelphia Stars and the Pittsburgh Maulers.

Here's a look at the former Eagles who appeared in this weekend's boxscores:

New Jersey Generals
  • QB Luis Perez: 19/25, 174 passing yards, 1 touchdown

  • QB Kyle Lauletta: N/A

  • DT Destiny Vaeao: 4 tackles

  • CB De'Vante Bausby: 2 passes defended

  • S Trae Elston: 2 tackles

Michigan Panthers
  • DB Jameson Houston: 7 tackles (1 for loss)

  • DT JaQuan Bailey: 3 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1 fumble recovery

  • WR Devin Ross: N/A

  • WR Ray Bolden: N/A

Birmingham Stallions
  • TE Cary Angeline: N/A

Pittsburgh Maulers

*The Maulers currently have no former Eagles on their roster

Houston Gamblers
  • QB Clayton Thorson: 8/12, 70 passing yards

New Orleans Breakers
  • DE Shareef Miller: 3 tackles (1 for loss)

Tampa Bay Bandits
  • S Obi Melifonwu: N/A

  • WR Rashard Davis: 1 reception (3 targets), 17 receiving yards

Philadelphia Stars
  • The Stars faced an imposing 24-13 deficit at the start of the 4th Quarter, but a 22-0 output in the quarter results in an impressive 35-24 victory. The Stars are now 4-3 and are in a playoff position as they remain in 2nd place in the division (the top 2 teams in each division advance to playoffs). With a 3 game lead over the 1-6 Panthers and 1-6 Maulers, the Stars only need 1 more victory (or the Panthers/Maulers to both lose 1 more game) to clinch a playoff spot.

We'll track these former Eagles along with the Philadelphia Stars throughout their seasons to see if any play well enough to earn another chance in the NFL, and possibly another chance in Philadelphia.
