CFB Four Performers: Week 2

With week 2 of the college football season wrapped up, we saw streaks snapped and a lot of absolute blowouts. With that, we saw good defense from some teams, and even better offenses. As usual, there were some guys that stood out, that should be available for the Eagles to take a look at in April.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey | Texas WR | 6’5 199lbs

This is not a Sound Cloud rapper, and Lil’Jordan is not little at all. Humphrey stands 6 foot 5 inches tall and has quickly become Texas QB Sam Ehlinger’s favorite target this season.  Although this week Texas played Tulsa, Humphrey reeled in 7 receptions for 109 yards and a TD. Texas may not be back, but when your head coach calls you a "swiss army knife" and you’re 6’5, you can bet that you’re name will be called in April.

Benny Snell | Kentucky RB | 5’11 223lbs

A lot went into Kentucky’s first road win in the swamp since 1979, but the best player on the field Saturday, was RB Benny Snell. Snell gashed the Florida defense for 175 yards on 27 carries and ran behind his pads all game. Snell’s ball carrier vision was on display all night, as he continuously bounced runs that appeared to go nowhere. Snell’s draft stock will continue to rise, but this is a back that will fit in with what the Eagles will need; power and vision to compliment Cory Clement.

Jeffery Simmons | Miss St DT | 6’3 300lbs

Another Bulldog on the defensive line? It worked the last time, and Fletch is an All-pro. Simmons ate up the offensive line from Kansas State that returned all five starters, including NFL prospect Dalton Risner. Simmons had 4 solo tackles as a DT, and while that may not seem flashy, he was a nightmare for the K-States offense.

Delvon Randall | Temple S | 5’11 210lbs

The last Temple safety drafted by the Eagles didn’t turn out so well. Randall, if drafted later than the 2ndround, may be a value add for the Eagles. A potential player who has the size and speed to be ready for the NFL now, Randall does lack consistency. Against Buffalo this past week, Randall led the Owls with 9 tackles. Keep an eye out for the local product, as he has potential with the Eagles late in the 2019 draft.
