Back in 2017, Carson Wentz's breakout season lead to his peers ranking him as the 3rd best player in the entire NFL. In 2018 though, Wentz dealt with rust returning from his ACL injury and also suffered a back injury, which hindered his play. That's why tonight during the NFL Network's Top 100 Players List reveal he fell back quite a few spots, as he came in at number 96.
Now that he is fully recovered from both his ACL and back injuries, Wentz is poised to return to an MVP-like form. Howie Roseman spent the offseason bolstering the offense to make sure Wentz has everything possible to succeed. As long as he keeps his health, this time next year Wentz is almost guaranteed to come in at a much lower spot on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2020 List.
