Alshon Jeffery 'Getting Close' For Return

Carson Wentz's return to the field on Sunday put Eagles fans in a good mood. Now that the smoke has settled after the Eagles win yesterday, the attention turns toward another key Eagle who fans are waiting to return to the field - Alshon Jeffery.

Jeffery is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery after playing all of the 2017 season with a torn rotator cuff. He just started practicing back on September 12th, and now his last hurdle is to be cleared for contact. However, Doug Pederson told media today that Jeffery still isn't cleared.

Pederson did say that Jeffery is close though. Most media and fans were expecting Jeffery to make his return to the Eagles when the team played the Titans this Sunday, but Pederson's comments today makes it sound like Jeffery will be out maybe one more week. If Jeffery does miss the Titans game, the expectation would then be for him to return when the Eagles play at home against the Vikings on October 7th.
