2022 Week 13 Injury Report: Eagles vs Titans

The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles host the Tennessee Titans this weekend, an opponent that is likely to give them their hardest test of the regular season. The Eagles enter this game with just one major injury on their 53-man roster, but still have a few key contributors on injured reserve. The Titans have a few players on their 53-man roster out for Sundays game, and a host of players on injured reserve.

Here's a look at the Week 13 injury report for the Eagles:

S C.J. Gardner-Johnson (kidney)

CJGJ was diagnosed with a lacerated kidney, which is a pretty unpredictable injury. He has yet to be placed on injured reserve as the team seems to hope he can return before the four-game absence injured reserve would require. Former Eagles DB Jordan Poyer suffered one when he was on the Browns in October of 2016 and missed the rest of the season with it, while former Eagles TE Zach Ertz missed just two games and returned early to play in a playoff game with the injury (he was largely ineffective in the game likely due to the injury).

The team should keep it safe with their key playmaker, even if his absence causes a slip in playoff seeding. UDFA Reed Blankenship is likely to take a majority of the snaps at safety until Gardner-Johnson returns.

DE Robert Quinn (knee)

Quinn has been invisible since he was acquired before the trade deadline. Thankfully the other pass rushers have picked up the slack and the Eagles currently are tied for the 3rd-most sacks in the NFL.

*DT Jordan Davis (IR - ankle)

Davis was seen jogging into the locker room after last week's game, and has since been activated to a 21-day window where he either is able to return or be shut down for the rest of the season. He was seen practicing this week and there is a small chance he could be activated by 4PM Saturday to play in Sunday's game. Davis also told the media he has lost 20 pounds since his ankle injury, which should make him even quicker on the field and put less pressure on his ankles/feet and hopefully avoid any re-injury.

*TE Dallas Goedert (IR - shoulder)

The exact type of shoulder injury Goedert suffered hasn’t been revealed yet, but we know he is out until at least the middle of December since he is required to miss at least 4 games when placed on IR. The Eagles don’t have a surefire #2 tight end behind Goedert. Jack Stoll has played a lot of snaps this year but he has basically been a blocker. Grant Calcaterra has just two receptions this year. QB-turned-TE Tyree Jackson has also taken some snaps.

*Avonte Maddox (IR - hamstring)

With Maddox out, expect Josiah Scott to continue to take all of the slot corner snaps

*DT Marlon Tuipulotu (IR - knee)

Tuipulotu was supposed to be the fill-in NT for Jordan Davis but suffered a season-ending knee injury. The 2021 6th-round pick wasn’t terrible but wasn’t impressive either in his increased role. The Eagles added Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh to replace Davis and Tuipulotu, and they shined in Week 11 in Indianapolis

*DE Derek Barnett (ACL)

Barnett tore his ACL in Week 1 and is out for the rest of the season.

Here's a look at the Titans' injury report:

DE Denico Autry (knee)

Autry leads the Titans with 7.0 sacks; he missed last week’s game for the Titans as well.

CB Elijah Molden (groin)

Molden is the slot corner for the Titans, but he has only been able to play in two games this season due to injury.

WR Cody Hollister (neck)

Hollister is a largely ineffective receiver for the Titans, but he does have a role on their special teams unit.

DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle)

Simmons is the biggest name on this list as he's a key defensive piece for the Titans. If he is inactive or isn’t 100% for this game, the Eagles could have another big game on the ground.

RB Hassan Haskins (hip)

The 4th-round rookie for the Titans has just 10 rushes in 11 games this season. Haskins has been a kick returner for Tennessee, and with the Eagles having trouble with that unit maybe this could be a key injury to watch out for.

*LT Taylor Lewan (IR): Lewan is the Titans' starting LT. The three-time Pro Bowler tore an ACL in Week 2 and his season is over. Dennis Daley has filled in as the starting LT for the Titans in Lewan’s absence.

*OLB Harold Landry (IR): The 2021 Pro Bowler tore an ACL just before the start of the season.

*LB Zach Cunningham (IR): Cunningham is a starting linebacker for the Titans who had just 24 tackles in five games this season. He injured his elbow in Week 9 against the Chiefs and hasn’t played since.

*CB Caleb Farley (IR): Farley was a first-round pick of the Titans in the 2021 draft, but his career has been marred with injuries thus far with just 9 career games played. He was a backup this season before suffering a season-ending herniated disk.

*CB Lonnie Johnson (IR): Another reserve corner for the Titans. He has just 5 tackles this season before going on IR.

*LB Ola Adeniyi (IR): Adeniyi only played 41 snaps in the regular defense this season before suffering a neck injury in mid-October.

*WR Kyle Philips (IR): Philips had 8 catches for 78 yards in the regular season before being placed on IR at the end of October.
