The 2020 season got off to a horrific start for the Philadelphia Eagles, as they suffered a humiliating defeat to the Washington Football Team. They also dealt with a handful of injuries going into the game and during the game to make the punch to the gut feel even worse.
Thankfully, the injury bug seems to be fainting away, as the Eagles will be "relatively" healthy heading into Week 2. Here's a look at their final injury report:
•WR Alshon Jeffery (foot): We shouldn't expect to see #17 back on the field until Week 3 or 4. I'm sure he is pressing to get back onto the field, but Doug Pederson and his staff should make sure he doesn't see the field until he is 110% recovered from his lisfranc injury. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside saw zero targets in Week 1, so it appears he isn't part of the Eagles' gameplan this year. Rookie John Hightower had a forgettable first game as a pro, so maybe some more targets will reach Jalen Reagor and DeSean Jackson in Week 2.
•DE Derek Barnett (hamstring): With a full practice on Friday Barnett should be ready to make his season debut. If he suffers a setback then Josh Sweat should continue to see a big snap count.
•DE Brandon Graham (concussion): Graham is out of concussion protocol so he should be fine to play even though he is considered questionable.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Rams are the anti-Eagles when it comes to injuries. They only have one player currently on injured reserve (and it's a depth linebacker). Their injury report from Thursday listed just one player:
• TE Gerald Everett (back): Everett only had a back contusion, so he is going to be able to play on Sunday against the Birds.
